Meet Koru Camp’s conservation crusader, Kulani Nyakane . He is a passionate and experienced nature conservation professional. As a National Geographic Explorer, he has engaged with diverse ecosystems and local communities, fostering partnerships, and promoting sustainable practices for the conservation of natural environments.
Justin Vickers [Director]
Meet Justin Vickers, Koru Camp’s innovation investigator. A gentle, kind soul with a profound love for the Lowveld. Hailing from Johannesburg as a successful entrepreneur, his heart belongs to the Lowveld region. Driven by a passion to foster change in the conservation realm by connecting communities with conservation efforts, Justin is a family-oriented individual who cherishes moments of birding and game drives with his loved ones. With Justin on board, we are confident in driving our projects to success.
Emily Whiting: Digital Dynamo
Introducing our lovely social media manager, Emily. A perfect blend of nature lover, humour enthusiasts, and digital savant. With a unwavering passion for the natural world and keen sense of humour, she keeps us connected and entertained in the ever evolving digital world.
Nothando Mkhombo: Koru Newbie
We are thrilled to welcome Nothanda, our new intern chef at Koru Camp! After visiting as a Wild Shots Outreach student in 2022 and later serving as a teaching assistant, she has completed her Diploma in Professional Cookery and CATHSSETA Assistant Chef course at Transvaal Hospitality Academy. Over the next three months, Nothando will be assisting in the kitchen and bringing her passion for food and creativity to our camp experience!
Eurydice Dupre: Master Multitasker (Volunteer)
We are thrilled to welcome Eurydice Dupre, a volunteer from Belgium, who brings a strong background in design and fundraising along with her experience as an Apprentice Field and Trails Guide. Her deep passion for wildlife and community-cantered conservation, paired with her adventurous, hardworking, and detail-oriented nature, makes her a valuable addition to our team. We can't wait to see the positive impact she will have on our projects at Koru Camp!
