Koru Camp Grand Opening: A Day to Remember

As the convoy of vehicles wound their way through the bushveld, a trail of dust swept up in their wake, glistening in the sun as it bathed the bush in gold. The landscape brimmed with warmth and colour, like nature itself was rejoicing. Against the backdrop of a brilliant blue sky, rhythmic drumming echoed through the air, welcoming more than 100 guests to a long-awaited celebration. Supporters, partner NGOs, and conservation leaders had all gathered to mark a pivotal moment: the grand opening of the newly renovated Koru Camp.

Together for Conservation: Rhino Man Screenings Raise R56,000 for Future Rangers

September has been an unforgettable month at Koru Camp! Inspired by the powerful launch of ‘Rhino Man’ in June, we proudly partnered with Global Conservation Corps and Connected Planet Foundation to host two exclusive screenings in Johannesburg and London. These evenings were filled with electric energy—delicious plant-based canapés, wines, stunning art displays, moving speeches, and even a lively raffle—all united by a collective passion for conservation.

Bursting with smiles and excitement for their first adventure in the wild, the girls quickly settled into their tents and eagerly joined our guide and environmental educator, Bongani, for an engaging lesson on ecology.

Travelling all the way from the UK, where she works as a Literary Rights Agent at Curtis Brown, Tanja brings with her a lifelong love for books and a fervent passion for wildlife and conservation. This unique blend of interests led her to Koru Camp, where she embarked on a mission to create an on-site library filled with educational books and inspiring stories about nature.
